The Advantages of All-PTFE CrossFilm™

CrossFilm™ material is simply the ideal floating roof seal material for above ground storage tanks. Because it is all-PTFE, it is guaranteed to be free from chemical attack.

As past performance shows, not a single floating roof seal product made using CrossFilm has ever been chemically-attacked.

Most PTFE floating roof seal materials require a fiberglass-reinforcement for strength. PTFE-coated fiberglass materials are porous and susceptible to corrosion.  After flexing and years in service, they can become very porous. The CrossFilm process produces a nonporous PTFE material with exceptional 360° tear strength and durability that will not be chemically attacked. Even after long-term flexing, a Crossfilm material maintains non-porosity and vapor containment.  To prevent long-term vapor escape, CrossFilm material is your safest alternative.

CrossFilm is available in thicknesses ranging from 0.003” (0.076 mm) to 0.060” (1.52 mm thick). It can be used in a temperature range of -100°F to 600°F (-73°C to 316°C). A conductive version of the material is available for static dissipation.

Products made for the industry using CrossFilm™ include:

  • Tank seals
  • Tank corners
  • Wiper seals
  • Leg socks
  • Gauge pole covers
  • Tube coverings for struts
  • Drainage tubes
  • Secondary containment liners
